Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC)

The importance of maintaining your HVAC system

Buying a home is often the most expensive purchase that most people will make in their lifetime; however, we find that most people don’t do routine maintenance to keep their home running in tip-top shape. When something breaks, it often becomes a major expense; one that most people aren’t prepared for. In Tucson, a running HVAC system is a necessity; especially in the smoldering summers. And though most people can agree that it’s important to have a running HVAC system, not everyone does what it takes to maintain the system properly to keep it running.

The most common response we get when we ask people about proper HVAC maintenance is, “I just got a new air conditioner,” or “I just bought my house.” That’s great. But without proper and routine maintenance, the equipment will start to suffer from normal wear and tear.

Imagine buying a new car and not doing routine oil changes, air filter changes, etc. Eventually, the car will start to fall apart. When the systems start to fail, it ends up being a costly expense to get things fixed. This is a similar situation. By doing routine maintenance on your system, we’ll be able to make recommendations for upcoming problems before they happen; allowing you to save and plan accordingly.

The last thing you want to do is get caught in 110* Tucson weather without air conditioning.

Benefits of Routine Maintenance:

By doing regular routine maintenance on your HVAC system, the chances of ensuring a smooth operating system increases immensely. Our technicians are able to see normal wear and tear and make recommendations on replacements. We’re also able to catch problems before they become an issue.

One of the things we look for is to ensure that your system is not running too hard. Sometimes, an ill-performing HVAC system will work; however, the performance isn’t up to par. Over time, that can cause problems in other areas, resulting in costly repairs. By keeping our eyes on your system, we can diagnose these problems before they arise.

Just as important as cost savings, having an HVAC system that runs properly is extremely important. This helps to ensure that you’re not paying too much money for electricity, sacrificing air quality, and that your system is doing what it should.

Maintaining your system increases the longevity of the system. This avoids costly replacement costs that always seems to happen at the most inopportune times.

A properly maintained HVAC system should last about 10 years, or longer (depending on the system). However, in our experience, not performing proper maintenance tends to cut this lifespan drastically. We’ve had the unfortunate chance to see new systems break down in the matter of a few years. The causes are typically things that could’ve been avoided; like routine maintenance, changing out air filters, programming thermostats, etc.

If the parts or equipment is under warranty, we can help to ensure that everything is running smoothly and keep your system operating as it should. If there is a breakdown, abnormal wear and tear, or something else happens, we can help rectify the situation.

This helps to give you the peace of mind that your warranties aren’t expiring on parts or equipment that is faulty and should’ve been replaced.

Excellent service by Bryan. He explained clearly what he was going to do and then provided testing information when completed. Highly recommend Cummings for any HVAC or plumbing service you might need.
